About brand
Arut Arustamyan is a young Russian designer; in 2016, he launched his own independent brand of men's and women's clothing named ARUT MSCW. He started his fashion education in London during the Foundation Year at Central Saint Martins, then continued his studies several years later at Istituto Marangoni, and completed them at Accademia Italiana when taking a course in Florence run by the University of Wales – this is exactly when Arut received his BA. The final touch was the graduation from Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan where he majored in Product Design.
Then there was an internship at Dsquared2 in Milan and a long work at the Maison IRFE fashion house. During that period, Arut worked in London, Paris and New York, thus getting invaluable experience in fashion business. His latest projects are the cooperation with the Walk of Shame brand, the work with the well-known Russian designer Alexander Arutyunov and, finally, the creation of his own brand that he presented on October 27, 2016.
“During my first year of studies in London I already realized that I would like to eventually have a brand of my own. I chose the name of ARUT MSCW for it – my own name – because I am an independent designer, and the brand reflects my personal aesthetics. The main message of the brand is street chic in all its manifestations – be it either a sequin-covered bodysuit paired up with training pants and sandals, or a white ruched dress. As for men's clothes – they bear the spirit of some kind of Oscar Wilde of our time. I am inspired by the images that serve as an example of impeccable style: I saw them during my studies and work in various countries, and I see them around now. These are the characters with the peculiar air of “truth” about them, and their appeal lies in the details that are often not visible to ordinary people.”
