About brand
In her collection, designer Olesya Shipovskaya combines her love for the luxurious 30ies and 40ies with the styles favored at the junction of (currently trendy) 80ies and 90ies. Fashion is cyclical – but this doesn’t mean it has nothing more to say. On the one hand, we see effortlessness and deliberate roughness of style paired up with a wish to look like a regular girl from the block – the one who does not think about elegance and status. On the other hand, we have the desire to stand out, to get swathed in velvet and silk, to try a vapory dress on. The brand stays faithful to feminine-looking details, hand embroidery and expensive fabrics, at the same time advocating for the practicality and viability of looks (impeccable trouser suits and waterproof coats in bright colors do the trick). Just like during the previous season, there was no way the brand could do without a beautiful symbol: the brooches and embroidery feature the bird that the Eastern tradition believes blessed and identifies it with luck, hope and good omen. Buddhism views a crane as a symbol of fresh and bright winter, while a crane in Indonesia is a magical creature born out of sea-washed rocks. Our Slavic tradition associates this bird with a promise of a great goal that one would reach only after a long and hard journey with a series of obstacles on the way. NEBO presents a crane as the personification of freedom that one needs to adhere to, fearlessly, with regard to both style and inner perception, i.e. be ready to experiment, look for the right path to follow, stay confident and simply be happy.
